2 Problems With Rick Husband Airport
Airport
Overall, for a city the size of Amarillo this airport is way above par. With that said, there are little improvements that need to be made. Overall though the facilities are nice and kept clean, TSA staff is friendly as is the airline staff, and most of the flights arrive on time. Also, there will be a new terminal opening up in Spring 2011.
Most service is outstanding and the people are wonderful in every instance. I am past middle aged and travel alone at times. The wheel chair service is wonderful but you sure need some more people hired to push the customers around in them. People who have trouble getting around have schedules to meet too and usually family or friends waiting for them. Us old timers like to get on our way home just like everyone else. The second problem is the biggest problem in my opinion. Why aren’t the parking places marked in the indoor parking area? As much as it costs to use it, a person would think the spaces would be clearly marked. I have to get one of the airport employees to help me with my bags and help me find my car every time I return to Amarillo from Dallas. I could probably manage on my own if the parking spaces were just marked. On one occasion, the gentleman helping me had to walk the entire garage before he found my car. I thought I wrote down the correct information about where I parked. Now I take a picture with my phone of one of the few landmarks near my car. As I mentioned earlier, the cost is high to park in the garage. I was gone several days to Dallas and it cost me more to pay out of the parking garage than my plane fare was! Again your people are top notch and you should be very proud of each one of them. Thank you for letting me vent and just maybe I mentioned some things that would help you improve your service even more!
