This is a small airport actually located in McKinleyville, CA near the Pacific ocean. It’s about 20 miles north of Eureka and 6 north of Arcata. It’s approx 300 miles north of SFO. It’s the gateway to the giant "Redwood Empire". Hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities available. Arcata is home to Humboldt State Univ. There are now 2 carriers. United Shuttle and Horizon/Alaska. Delta has stated they will start service mid June 08. Airport has car rental and a restaurant. The weather is cool to mild and over 75 degrees is considered a "heat wave". Lots of rain in winter and fog in the summer. At times planes are delayed or canceled due to the fog. Plan accordingly.
