November 10th
Coffee kiosk by departure lounge 36.
Bought 3 coffees and a Twix bar costing
£26 95. You pay by card only then you realise what you paid.
Then he had the cheek to ask for a tip!
Be warned!
Just a joke. 1 starbucks cold coffee 1 bag of crisps and one cheese and tomato roll = 28.5 euros
Please whatch out if you have children with you it could cost £100 to feed them at this airport. disgraceful!

What a rip-off airport!
£24 for 2x basic cheeseburger, fries and small drink.
Miserable staff, surly staff and very abrupt staff. Felt more like convict then guest to a nation.
Lack of information boards
Very quiet tannoy system
Overpriced duty free
The only good thing was the excellent security processes.
Never thought I’d see somewhere that makes Heathrow look cheap and Norwich good
£10 for four bottles of water is disgusting and as for everything else dirty rip offs never will I go to turkey again ripped off all the time and then been give 22tl to the pound when the rate is 32tl absolutely rubbish wouldent even give one star just pure greedy basterds
Sooo expensive
1x Latte
3 x water
= £34.29
Disgraceful really!!

Me and my wife had a McDonald’s
1 super Big Mac meal
1 chicken mc sandwich
2 juices
1 chips
1 onion rings
£25 was shocked
Need to drop prices
£10 a pint and I still paid it!! Nothing else to do. But lots of people where drinking, so it won’t change. Even the duty free was expensive !!! Apart from cigarettes!!!
Just arrived back this morning 2nd June 2022. Payed £20 for 2 pints of efes and £6 for pkt of walkers crisps. Something got to be done with prices there. Get everyone to stop buying they will soon get the message
I was shocked to pay 37TL (around £5.50) for a small paper cup of coffee from a bakery, on the other hand I noticed coffee for 10TL at McDonalds! So I guess my advice is shop around because I also saw a kebab wrap, potato wedges and a drink for 35, less than the price of my coffee!
Not as bad as people say Iv just paid £21 for 2 Big Mac meal large and 1 qaurter pounder meal as do large and a crispy chicken happy meal it’s not that much mire than the U.K.
Flew from there yesterday and was surprised at the cost ( having previously been warned about it ) we had 2 ft long subways and 2 waters it cost less than £ 22 dont know what all the fuss is about
A lovely airport but beware it’s VERY expensive!! Approximately £40 for 1 X happy meal, 1 X double cheese burger meal at McDonalds & 4 X pieces chicken & 1 coffee from KFC!! Don’t buy food, wait until you board the plane! Alcohol is also very expensive so avoid the bar! Such a shame as I’m sure it’ll be another reason for people deciding to holiday elsewhere in the future.
We had a lovely time in marmaris turkey fantastic people very welcoming but maybe not so in the airport we went to subway and ordered 4 sandwiches and 4 bottles of water the price came to £65 sterling pound I said I’m not paying that refused and told my hubby and children we will wait till on the plane were we all got more to eat for £25 plus there are not many seats either dalaman airport is by far the dearest airport ever !!!!!!!
Dalaman Airport
After reading all the comments on Dalaman airport I thought I would comment that it has not changed. Back home yesterday and at the airport shop I bought 3 cans of fizzy drinks, a small tub of Pringles, a bounty bar, a mars bar, and a bag of Doritos. Total price 61.50 NTL = £23.00-ish, then was asked by the staff at the gate to fill in a tourism questionnaire for the Turkish government tourism department; I made a few suggestions as to what they could do with the airport prices. I wish I had known before I went how expensive it was going to be, but I know now and I won’t make the same mistake again.
Overpriced Food
Be warned. Dalaman is known as the most expensive airport in the world. Take your own food – you can’t take drinks but at least food is covered. Perhaps if we stop buying they will change but only then. Large fries at MacDonalds are £4.00, 2 meals – £20.
What is £16 or £17 in the resorts and around £15 in the UK, I was charged £48 in Dalaman Airport. If you need to eat, arrange before you leave resort.
Security Checks
On entering Dalaman you go through a security barrier. Then after check-in you have to go through another security barrier which is about 50 metres from the 1st one (WHY!). Previous comments have mentioned taking your own food and water, I had mine snatched from my bag and thrown in a bin, forcing me to purchase a 500ml bottle of diet coke and 500ml bottle of water for my husband cost £7.00. No security checks at boarding now, loaded on to buses like cattle to transport you to your aircraft. Also very impolite staff at duty free!!
Expensive
Although I am Turkish, I agree with Mr Andy Hove’s comments. The airport is a complete rip-off. They charged me 7 liras for a small cookie and 5 liras for a can of pop. The reason why it is so expensive airport is because Turkish Government has privatized major airports including Dalaman Airport at very high prices. In turn, airport owners rent the shops at high prices and in turn it affects cost of goods and services sold in these airports in Turkey. That’s why prices are too expensive in Dalaman Airport and they will continue to be high. Welcome to Turkey
Ripoff Turkey
Dalaman airport is to be avoided at all costs, whether it means taking your tourist pounds elsewhere, or staying at home. From the moment you arrive, the ripoff begins. A flock of Turkish Vultures await the coaches to rent you a trolley for the 20 metre run across the pavement, and many were getting caught. Then the excess baggage charges are extracted like paper oil from the money saved on all the cheap goods. Then the National disgrace of the food halls and lounges begins. I don’t believe a government in the world would allow the daylight robbery that exists in Dalaman, unless it agreed. Never have I seen a big mac meal for more than a tenner, or a KFC bargain bucket for over 30 quid ( yes, you heard right … THIRTY POUNDS STERLING). Although my holiday wasn’t cheap by any chalk, I always had a choice of whether to buy overpriced drinks or wares , but the airports are a captive audience, and should be regulated by any responsible government tying to encourage tourists. The Dalaman experience has ensured that my last visit to Turkey is over.. well done.
Dalaman Aiport
We have just returned from a great holiday in Turkey, but Dalaman aiport is not a good airport if you are delayed! We had a 3.55am flight, this seems to be a very popular time for package holidays. The airport has absolutely no seats to sit down on. We had to sit on the floor, whilst we waited for our flight to be called. There were about four flights to the UK that had delays of about 4-5 hours. We were lucky our flight was on time but I did feel sorry for those poor people who were delayed, especially those with young children. There was no where for them to sit and the price of food and drink was outrageous. Several people inquired about the VIP lounge which had lovely comfy seats and was empty! It worked out to be about £20 per person. OK if you are a couple but getting on to be a bit expensive if you are a family of 4 or 5. Lovely country, shame about the airport!
Dalaman Airport
Dalaman airport is a beautiful airport, however, food and drink prices are crazy! We have been caught out, but went without rather than pay the stupid prices! We have property in Dalyan and now we advise all our guests to take a packed lunch and plenty of drinks, to avoid having to pay over inflated prices at the airport. The old airport was uncomfortable but cheaper, surely the people who run the airport must realise that the bars and food shops are empty! Reduce the prices and sell more food and drinks. But don’t let the airport put you off Turkey, the people and the country is beautiful.
Dalaman
Flew from Dalaman in July 2008, it was night time and the airport was very dim, hardly any lights on. The duty free shops have everything priced in Euros, I got the proper exchange rate for my purchases, though. The food courts were empty as the prices are way beyond expensive, they are a pure rip off. The people who set the prices at this airport must know people are not buying anything unless they have no choice, delayed or kids needing drinks. First time I have seen an airport bar with not a single customer.
Prices At Dalaman
I have never felt so cheated as I did at Dalaman Airport when trying to buy a drink for my young children. A can of fizzy drink was around 8 YTL, which is absolutely disgusting. I understand that airports are more expensive, but even London Gatwick is very, very cheap compared to Dalaman. It is a great pity, as we had a lovely holiday and found the people extremely pleasant. The experience at the airport (where I didn’t get a receipt, as I don’t think my money was going into the till, but into the man’s pocket – that would account for his, and his supervisors, rudeness when attempting to get a refund) left a bad taste in all our mouths.
Dalaman Airport
We have just recently returned from an enjoyable holiday in Turkey – only for it to be ruined by the ‘Dalaman Airport’ experience. While the new airport building is a considerable improvement on the previous terminal, and reflects the development of the Country, it still leaves a very negative image of Turkey and the Turkish people – sad. The food court prices can only be described as outrageous (tea and coffee £3/£4, small water £2) – this is clear exploitation of the tourists, who have in fact contributed to the country’s economic growth. The airport has no comfortable seating and (unusually for the Turkish) does not have facilities to accommodate families with young children waiting for overnight flights (we had to literally carry our 5 year old, asleep, while awaiting a delayed flight, and no access is given to seated lounges until just before departure). Finally, and again most surprisingly, the staff at the airport without exception were rude, abrupt, unhelpful, and lacked any customer service skills. As much as we like Turkey, our experience at Dalaman Airport will make us reconsider future trips – Take note Dalaman ……… take note Turkey!
Dalaman
I have been twice, once in the old building, which was dirty and intimidating. Now they have a new building, amazing architecture, best time to go is at night, the whole essence of the airports is shocking, exciting and calm, my favourite airport I have ever been to.
Official Personnel
Whilst I had a fantastic holiday in Kalkan the return reception at Dalaman Airport was frightening. Without exception airport personnel were abrupt, most unfriendly, passports were thrown back at you, and some passengers were almost pulled to one side for handbag search. There was some arguments between passengers and personnel but my advice is do as you are ordered and get into the departure lounge a.s.a.p Previous holidays were different with the occasional friendly gesture but not this time. Food is expensive but we expect that at airports otherwise great time but wont be going back.
Services At Dalaman
I thought that the new departure area would be improved. After a 2 hour journey from Icmeler, I arrived around 12:10 at the Airport. 3 check in desks for Glasgow, very slow. Food court had ridiculous prices, 18TL for a chicken sandwich and a can of coke. People with children must have had to take out a second mortgage to pay for food. Our flight was departing from Gate 30, but security check was practically at the door, so there was a bit of a crush with passengers going through the security barrier and queing for the flight. I am aware that this is a new building and that there will be a snagging list at the end of the season, but the above are just some issues I feel could be addressed.
August 2006
The Dalaman airport is completely new. We went there for holidays. A very clean, new modern airport with some shops. People are kind and helpful.
Dalaman Airport
A lovely airport. Clearly new-ish, because concrete aprons are still white, and runway doesn’t look like its had a beating yet. The inside is all gleaming. From the UK each person landing has to pay ONE BRITISH TEN POUND NOTE, so if two are travelling like myself and wife, its TWO TEN POUND NOTES, not one twenty pound note or any coins. This gets you a visa stamp and allows you into Turkey. Lovely shops inside , but food and drinks are VERY expensive.
Have been to this airport many times, tast time October 2023 .the prices have gone through the roof ,half a litre of beer, which is three quarters of a pint was £12.50.im not paying it first time we haven’t had a drink in an airport. Been on hundreds of holidays, virtually nobody bought anything.
