Ufa International Airport Reviews (3)
Small But Very Competitive
Nice Airport
We traveled to Ufa City three times in 2009 to complete an adoption. I found this airport to be extremely clean, secure and very modern – especially for a smaller airport. Getting through security here is quick and easy. International flights (there are only 4-5 daily) are handled through a separate terminal that is as equally well equipped. The waiting areas are quite comfortable. There are shops and cafes in both terminals and during the times we were there they were never that busy. We never had to wait in line for anything. Although it is rare you will find someone who speaks English here, all signage is in Russian and English. Overall a very good experience.
UFA International Airport
UFA airport has been renovated and has had a brand new terminal, since March 2008, which is fully computerised, with plenty of sitting areas, bars, restaurant and cafés in the departure lounge (very large in size). Mainly used by Aeroflot, S7, Lufthansa, Finnair, Pulkovo Airlines, Siberia, Kuban Airlines, Uzbekistan Airlines, Krasnoyarsk Airlines, Tyumen Airlines, KMV, Krasnodar Airlirnes, KomInterAvia, KolAvia, SurgutAvia, Avialeasing, Center Avia, KhantyAvia, Nizhegorodskiye Airlines, UTA Air and several other charter airlines. UFA city is 22 Km away and connected a motorway with the airport. Ufa city is one of the largest transport hubs in the Russian Federation and has a developed transport infrastructure including airport, large railway junctions, highways, and river ports. The geographic location of the UFA International Airport provides a modern cargo/passenger hub with connections to many Russia and International airports.
Last time I flew from UFA was in 2006. Airport was under construction and we had to go outside in order to get in the aircraft. But my mom and brother fly in and out of UFA very often and they say that it has changed drastically since then. Now you get in the plane directly from your gate (good for -40C weather outside, huh?), I wish Lufthansa relaunched their flights to Frankfurt again, at least once a week though. But regular flights to Istanbul open good connection opportunities to fly let’s say to Los Angeles starting march 2011 with Turkish Airlines.
