No Frills Flying
Sunan International Airport is, to state the obvious, by no means an international transport hub competing with the likes of Narita, Incheon or Pudong. This actually works very well in its favour – during a whirlwind visit in April 2012, the entire arrival process, from stepping off the plane to stepping out of the airport, took no longer than 30 minutes. It helps that the passport control, luggage collection and security check are all housed in the same small building. No endless travelators, no transits between terminals, and perhaps best of all, no screaming kids running around. For the shopaholics, there’s even a little souvenir stand immediately after passport control. What it lacks in glitz and clean lines it makes up for in no-nonsense totalitarian efficiency.

The airport is in North Korea, which is a totalitarian dictatorship!
