Blenheim Airport
Blenheim/Woodbourne
This airport serves the Marlborough region as well as the Air Force of Woodbourne Base. Safe Air an aircraft maintenance company is also located here. It is a small regional airport with basic but good facilities. The most common aircraft for passenger service is the Beech 1800D.
Blenheim BHE Airport NZ
Blenheim was originally Woodburne Air Base, RNZAF and home to the RNZAF technical training base. It is still home to an air force establishment, but the airport has increasingly become a provincial civil airport and home to SAFE Air Engineering. The airport is close to the small city of Blenheim. Connecting flights to Wellington are mainly provided by Air New Zealand with 19 seat Beechcraft B1900D aircraft.
A good, small regional airport. You can buy simple food and coffee and tea. It has all the usual basic facilities. Always clean and tidy. The usual informal, friendly and effective Kiwi service. Air2There also offers cheap connecting flights in and out to other small centres. Woodbourne Airforce base is still there. Mainly seems to be used as a servicing centre for the Orions and Hercules of the RNZAF.
