I left Nafoora oilfield long time ago, I used to work there during the time of John Burke, jack Shanon, Great Singer, George Roamer and many other Libyans national who I salute them and I wish they are in good health. Now the airport is tarmacked but in our days was just soft sand. My best greetings to all the existing workers of Nafoora oilfield.

I’ve landed and departed from here a few times as I have worked on the oil fields here. Nafoora is just an area of desert with a few military and oil company camps. Gadaffi uses it as it has a base there. It’s run down and basic and the planes they use wouldn’t even be allowed in most air space due to the bad condition (bald tyres and bits missing). There are a couple of small towns nearby and some large date palm plantations but that’s it.
