I visited Kuria Airport on the 26th April flying in from Kiribati. It is a shed at the end of a runway with an agent who deals with checking in etc. and a boy who is the baggage handler. The waiting room is a boulia (not sure how its spelt) which is a platform with a thatched roof covering. There is an outside toilet of sorts. To fly in you need to come from Bonriki International Airport – which is a 30 minute flight and an experience in itself. A great place to visit but make sure you don’t have worries about being off the island by a certain date. The two airlines servicing the island have few planes – one has two and the other only has one so it can be prone to non-arrival if there are engine or fuel problems.
