We recently arrived in Saumlaki with friends on their yacht as part of Sail Indonesia. We were only doing that leg of the rally so had to fly from Saumlaki to Ambon and then to Denpasar. Before leaving Australia we could find no information on booking flights out of Saumlaki, although we knew there was an airport there! This made our trip a bit of an adventure as we had time limits on when we had to be back to work in Australia. So here’s a little bit of help for travellers who may be in the same position one day. You can book flights at the hotel Harapan Indah – they have a travel bookings office there. At the time of writing flights leave Saumlaki via 2 different airlines, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sat or Sun. We were told that the planes are usually full so it pays to book as soon as possible. Hope that provides people with some help that we didn’t have!!
