Very good
THE CALICUT INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IS MOST POPULAR AIRPORT IN INDIA. IT EARN FUNTASTIC REVENUE FOR OUR NATION AND SO CONFIRTABLE TO PASSENGERS.
IT LOCATED ALMOST CENTER OF KERALA AND IN A BEUTIFUL AREA. BUT THE ADMINISTRATION IS SO FAR NOT GOOD. THEY MAKE TOO MUCH ISSUES WITH PASSENGERS AND SOME TIME THEY DIDNT MANNER THE LOCAL PASSENGERS AS WELL.
Expecting the runway re-carpeting maintenance can be over with the required time frame and re-start the schedule including the jumbo services shortly with more power than before.
The majority of the people from Malabar area who are working abroad are depending Karipoor (Calicut – CCJ) international airport. Unfortunately, since 1st May 2015 they restricted the schedule due to runway re-carpeting. Hope that, all the remaining maintenance will be over under the required time from and restart the jumbo services to Dubai, Jeddah & Riyadh by EK, AI & SV respectively.
Transportation And Lodging
It would be very convenient for night as well as early morning passengers, if any lodging facility is provided near the airport under the control of airport authorities. Similarly, transport bus facility from airport to Calicut Railway Station or Feroke Railway Station would be very helpful to the passengers. The airport authorities can charge reasonable charges for both transport and lodging.
Baggage Clearance
I travelled twice to and from Calicut international but the baggage retrieval is horrible. It takes two hours to get your baggage. Not at international standards.

Calicut International Airport (IATA: CCJ, ICAO: VOCL), also known as Karipur Airport, is located at Karipur in the Malappuram district, near Kozhikode (Calicut), Kerala, India. The airport is located 26 km (16 mi) from the Calicut Railway Station and 27 km (17 mi) from the town of Manjeri, with the closest railway station being at Feroke. It is the 12th busiest airport in India in terms of passenger traffic and 11th in cargo handling. Calicut Airport is one of the three international airports located in Kerala. Calicut airport was given the status of international airport on February 2, 2006, thereby paving the way for the improvement of the infrastructure there for handling international flights.
