I visited Guyana recently and the checking system and baggage claiming system need much to be desired, it is designed to rip off customers. Your red cap porters want to be paid in US dollars and not Gyd. It’s just a hassle when you have a family who can help you and they have to wait outside until you can take your bag to them, that is not an international system, in America, UK, Canada your family can help you with your bags and take it to the taxi or you can help yourself if there is a trolley and u pay a small fee, when you check in your bag, you have to fetch it to the check in desk. When you have your relative who can again help you with your bags, no one is allowed inside and when you go in, you cannot come out to meet your family or get anything to eat. In the UK and USA you can check your bags with your family, go and sit to have a chat. When you think it’s time you go to clear immigration. This is why the front of the airport is so crowded. You do not encourage tourism with that system, you are so stressed when you’re finished, that you don’t want to visit Guyana again. Can you, please, review your system and make changes to meet international standards, have baggage trolleys for passengers to use and pay a fee? I don’t want anyone to move my bag when I packed it. The security and flight attendants are not courteous; more training is needed.
