On the 3rd of June, 2009, my wife, Maria Paulk, was returning from visiting her family in Santiago. There were two security people, a woman and a man, at the security station. The man confiscated two jars of "dulce" that had been permitted 10 months previously, but seemed to be contraband now. The woman was very nice and told my wife she could sit nearby and eat it if she wanted too. The man was very gruff and rude and told her she had to get out of there "right now". She told him he had no right to talk to her that way, and he said, "yes I do, this is confiscated and you have to leave here right now". She gave him no reason whatsoever to speak to her that way, he was just throwing his weight around and showing his "authority". Had I been there, I would have kicked his butt and probably gone to jail. There is no excuse for people who deal with the public to act that way. There was no justification in his actions. If the jars were contraband, okay, that’s no big deal, but his rudeness and mean disposition was totally uncalled for and will cause him to get into trouble if he is not careful.
