Ndjili International Airport Reviews (1)
Arriving to FIH is quite easy going if you have your visa and vaccination certificate (yellow fever). However, the police is keeping far away from the terminal building all drivers, taxis and other people who may want to meet you. Quite tricky to find your way when arriving the first time. The worst part of the trip is the road to downtown Kinshasa (about 23 km). It is a permanent and messy traffic jam that may take you 45 minutes (1 or 2 lucky days per year) or somewhere between 3 and 4 hours (comparable with Lagos in the late 70’s). Road construction is going on, adding heavily to the mess, and nobody knows when it will be completed. Departure formalities recall the bad old days; count for 1 full hour from reaching the terminal building (land side) to leaving it (air side). Not to talk of any launch worth mentioning it; they charge you hefty prices after the first soft drink.
