Where Are The Gates?

Very modern facility. Of all the airports I’ve traveled to in Latin America, this one is very nice. People there are excellent and always willing to lend a hand, the only drawback the DAS people were not very friendly, but that’s their job. All airline personnel and service personnel went out of their way to make me comfortable. Kudos MDE two thumbs up!!
I was last at the airport in 2007, when it was drab, depressing, and sorely in need of a makeover. At that time, they had boarding gates. Fast forward to 2010, and the airport has been renovated quite nicely, with bright whites and cheery colors. The DAS agents were helpful and customer service was fine. But something is now missing, namely all the boarding gates. They seemed to have redone the boarding ramps but never attached the gates to them, nor do I see where they could attach them now. Every plane embarks and disembarks on the tarmac via portable stairs and enters the airport via the stairs on the boarding ramps, the ones without gates. I hope this is a work in progress.
