Map location looks about correct. Located in Inner Mongolia (not Mongolia, that’s different). Airport is quite new, very clean, restaurant available, arrival and departure check-in is at ground level. Check-in is efficient. Arrival-departure board is in Chinese (but it is easy enough to follow flight numbers). Ground level seating is about adequate.Upper level (restaurant area) seating is sufficient Boarding waiting area is sufficient. Currently the drop-off / collection point is the nearby adjacent carpark as the approach road is barricaded. It’s not a problem unless heavy rain.
Agree with David, this airport is nice and clean and not at all crowded. Business lounge is often closed, but nearby VIP lounge is also acceptable.
The area has been renamed to Ordos a few years ago, and the new airport named accordingly. The main city nearby is still Dongsheng and one of its larger companies is the Erdos Cashmere Group Co. (not a typo, the company ist still spelled with an E not O).
