Very nice, I have used this facility several times and agree that it is underutilized. Keep up the good flights West Jet.

Excellent airport that is very underutilized. Unfortunately too many travelers from the rapidly growing Waterloo region, still have to drive to Pearson International (YYZ) – a horrible waste of time and costly parking. YKF should have regular service to major US cities : JFK, BOS, DTW, etc. Not to mention Canadian connections to Vancouver, St. Johns, etc. Security processing and boarding is fantastically quick, compared to huge airports. Convenient all around.
More Airlines Available
In addition to winter flights to Mont Tremblant, Punta Cana, Puerto Plata and Cancun YKF now offers daily flights to Detroit via Northwest Airlink, and Calgary via Westjet. Talks are still in progress to bring more services to YKF.
Waterloo Region Int'l Airport
This is a small but very efficient international airport. You can even get charter flights direct to Cuba, Dominican Republic or Cancun from here.
I LOVE this little airport. It is ‘international’ and my son will be flying into this airport after a two-year mission in Chile in July. I am beyond thrilled that the whole family will be able to greet him there and drive 12 minutes home. We can also fly non stop to Calgary and back at days end. SO convenient. Way to go Kitchener-Waterloo-Breslau!
