Airport Transportation
Transportation To/From Halifax Airport
In regard to the transportation issue mentioned by Ms. Hambleton, there is another way to get to/from the Halifax airport: there is an independent shuttle service run by a company called The Airporter (902-873-2091). It stops at all of the downtown area hotels (so you can pick it up at one of those, or have them drop you off there–you do not have to be a guest of the hotel). The cost is $19.50 one-way, or $36 return. The trip takes anywhere from 40 minutes to an hour, depending where you are picking it up or being dropped off. The city council has also reportedly been mulling over the idea of an express city bus to/from the airport, but nothing has been finalized yet.
Transportation To And From The Airport
This airport is located outside the city of Halifax, and although the airport itself is quite nice, there is no public transportation that comes to and from the airport, unless you are staying in a hotel that offers a shuttle. Currently a taxi is about $50 to get into the city. I think that the experience at this ariport would be greatly enhanced by offering a regular city bus route for travellers. Just like most other airports throughout the world.
A new bus service by Metro transit now runs between downtown Halifax and the airport at least once an hour. Just wnated to point this out, you can visit Metro Transit Halifax to get times.
