Having made a visit to this airport on Easter Sunday, April 4th 2010, I was absolutely gobsmacked by the fact that there was nothing! With this I mean no personnel visible on check-in counters, no customs, no police, no information counter: NO STAFF ANYWHERE TO BE FOUND. As for the amenities: not even an ATM to obtain cash should one want to retrieve one’s car after any stay outside the euro zone so one would have to walk for approx. 30 minutes (single trip) into town to find one (should one not have a credit card like Master or Visa). Not very handy. OK, Easter Sunday might not be very representative for the average business day. However, being able to enter an airport and not being able to find any official present to supply one with any information one might require, is well below what may be expected! On the bright side, there is ample parking facility (not consistently guarded) and the airport is easily found.
Ostend Airport is a little airport but there are special aircraft…Antonov, Iluyshin….
