Ministro Pistarini International Airport Reviews (4)
My experience with wait times are between the two other raters. No problem lining up at your departing airline (mine was American) but I’m Gold… waits at the Economy line were significant. Once on your way to the gate, there’s security, customs and immigration, and getting though these 3 lines can take an hour or more. The place is clean and relatively small, so no long walks at all. Ignore Duty Free, it’s a ripoff. But heed the advice to be there early, at least 2-3 hours.
Nice Airport
Contrary to the comment by Greg C, I found this airport nice, clean and stress-free. On arrival, baggage was a little slow coming out, but other than that no complaints. On departure, I checked in online so no queuing at desk. The queue’s there were not large by any means. Spent 15mins in security, (not a US, Canadian or Australian so the airport tax did not apply to me). Duty free is small, but it has everything you want. Overall, I would not have any concerns using this airport again.
Be There Early!
When they say to be there 4 hours early, take this literally. You will spend your first 20 minutes finding the line you should be in for the different airlines. Then 1 hour or more waiting to check in. Now make your way to the Airport tax lineup ($18USD per person) and wait another 40-60 minutes. Move upstairs with your receipt and get in the security lineup. Don’t worry, this will only be another 30-40 minutes. All done? Now make your way to the customs line-up. Customs in Argentina is fairly lax, but prepare for at least a 30 minute wait… Congrats, you made it to the gates…. Now, don’t get lost in the massive duty free shop, but remember, there is one more line you need to go through… the one to the plane. This is where you go through security AGAIN! A less invasive search, but another search nonetheless. A trip to BA is more than worth it, and I recommend you go! (JUST BE THERE EARLY TO GO HOME)
Duty free a joke nothing at all worth buying all more than uk retail food shocking two croissants and fernett and coke $32.00usd. Ie £21 avoid like the plague
