Krabi Airport Reviews (7)
* disgusting toilets
* no open restaurant
* the lists of flights screen was completely broken.
* there were NO staff whatsoever to take tickets before the flight.
* on booth there was a sign of a different flight company (Thai air) we was with Shanghai Airlines.
* the security “weren’t ready” to scan us after we got tickets
* at security I was not asked to take anything out my bag
* in the departures lounge, the used wrong plane number
Reached Krabi and waited for 90 minutes to get to the arrival counter. They should have deployed more immigration officers to clear the travellers, and on the way back, departure time, was disappointed and angry with the baggage x-ray staff; she was so rude by shouting at us (me and wife), she was saying something in English but I couldn’t understand a single word she said; when I asked her to repeat, she shouted “do you understand” repeatedly; shouldn’t the staff be trained to speak proper English?
Bad Experience At Krabi
The airport does offer a shuttle bus service for 90B, which is pretty cheap, but still no metered taxis, so they are still a ripoff. There is a good restaurant on the top floor, but signs are in bad English all over and the bathrooms stink. Also they have a strange policy that you cannot carry an EMPTY water bottle on a plane. I have a bottle that I have carried through so many airports in the last year (Seoul, JFK, BUF, BKK, Beijing, Taipei…) anyway, they made me check my only bag, which made me almost miss my flight out of Bangkok! They could offer me no clear reason about the policy, just said it was the managers policy and pointed to a letter written in Thai… not very helpful. Also, I found some passports and turned them in to a security guard and he had no idea what to do with them, so I had to go to a ticket booth, and they still did not page the people. Finally those people returned to where they left the passports and asked where they were… unless they might not have known they were at the ticket desk… Basically you can expect something that looks almost first world, but you will get truly third world service at this little airport… better luck next time guys!
Krabi Airport
I have recently visited Krabi Airport. The new area is working now. All happier, bigger and better working and soon will get even better too.
Krabi Airport
When is Krabi airport going to provide a metered taxi service or a bus service of any kind? The present service into town or the beach is a disgraceful rip off for all tourists.
Krabi
Quite a pleasant and calm airport by most standards. Very easy to check in quiet departure lounge with TV screens showing movies. Facilities clean and basic refreshments. It’s small size makes baggage handling easy and pick up very easy on arrival.
Shouted at by the customs officer upon arrival for not having a landing form…which was neither given to me on the plane (slept through the red-eye flight and staff did not give me one) nor available at the airport arrivals. I asked the officer politely where I could get the form, to which the officer stared at me for maybe 10 seconds before yelling “You look at me!” It was 4 am. Way to start a vacay.
