Tofino New Terminal

My wife and I fly Orca Airways from Vancouver’s South Terminal to Tofino about once per year. Tofino is uncontrolled and subject to low clouds and fog, particularly in the stormy winter months. Of the seven flights we’ve made into Tofino, one was canceled due to weather forcing us to fly to Victoria and rent a car for the five hour drive to Tofino. The airport features a nine hole golf course, restaurant and a Budget rent a car. There is no terminal.
Tofino Airport A Great Destination
This airport is large enough to accommodate most any type of corporate jet aircraft with 3, 5,000 ft. concrete runways that are 100ft. wide.
The new terminal is now open. The name of the terminal (airport) has been changed to the Long Beach Airport. An addition to the south side of the terminal is just about completed. Construction on a maintenance hanger next to the terminal building will begin shortly. Orca Air has a kiosk, as does Budget Car Rental. There are very clean restrooms,vending machines are being installed, and waiting room seating for approx 25 people. The terminal has WIFI which works well.There is a large parking lot for almost 80 vehicles.The parking lot and the access road off the highway are not paved, and can be very rough. CAUTION! Highway signage is almost non-existent. The "Airport Road" is directly across from the Long Beach exit off the Highway. Excellent facility compared to what existed prior to May 2010.
